Edinburgh Athletic Club

Firstly can we thank everyone who makes a financial contribution to the Club.

As we are sure you will appreciate the “running” (forgive the pun) costs of the Club are growing year on year particularly in regard to entering competitions and travelling to compete in them. In 2011 we spent approximately £24,500 in this regard, this increased to approximately £38,200 in 2012. We do not anticipate 2013 being any lower than this and in the circumstances it is clear to see that fund raising is a priority for us all.          (more…)

Further to the post on the East District Championships to be held at Meadowbank -
 parents we are calling on you again to assist at the event for the 6 hour stint you signed up for via the parent’s code of conduct. We are looking in particular for an admin team for the event – if you can help please let Pat know asap if you have not done so already – we will keep you right. Others can help out on the track or field – we will not put you in anything you would not feel comfortable doing.  The club is run entirely by volunteers so Your club needs you!   (more…)

Thanks to athletes/parents/officials/coaches/volunteers for all their hard work at the Lothian Trials on Sunday and
for making it such a successful day. The parents group raised £680 – best ever!

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO: MEMBERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS, PARENTS, HELPERS AND FRIENDS  OF EDINBURGH ATHLETIC CLUB WHO ARE AGED 18 YEARS AND OVER.

Fund raising is  essential to the running of Edinburgh Athletic Club, it subsidises the costs of running events and travelling to events. One of the very many successful fund raising activities is our 200 club run by Marion Donachie.   

We currently have several numbers available.  Each number costs £12 for the year and if YOU are interested in purchasing a number or numbers you are invited to contact Marion Donachie.  Anyone wishing to purchase a number must be aged 18 yrs or over.       (more…)

Lothian Trials Meadowbank Sunday 7th April
Anyone wishing to volunteer either with fundraising/coaching or officiating or in any other help they can offer the club whether it be on the 7th April or in the future – please come to a meeting on 2nd April in the Athletes Room in the concourse at 7.30.

EDINBURGH & LOTHIAN ATHLETIC TRIALS     Sunday 7th April 2013

WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY DONATIONS FOR OUR TOMBOLA/RAFFLE  (for kids/adults) AND CAKE & CANDY STALLS. We are also looking for volunteers to man the stall on the day.

Please bring before 4th April (but still happy to accept on the day along with cake and candy )

Helpers Required – Can you help with admin, fundraising, coaching, officiating…?   If you have any used spikes (in good condition) or any other kit please hand them in.
We will then sell them on to others for a small amount and all money raised will go to the Club. Members will be able to try items on Tuesday/Thursday evenings between 7pm & 8pm) see Yvonne or Gail   (the ones with the pegs on their noses!)

I am encouraging parents or even grandparents to sign up either for the Club Trials on 7th April or for any future event. The Parent’s group are also fundraising (and looking for new members).  We would appreciate any items for a kids/adult’s raffle/tombola or cake and candy. If you can give something no matter how small (even if you cannot make it) by 4th April to myself or Gail Wilson.
