BUPA Great Edinburgh Run Sunday 7th October 2012 – Volunteers Required

Helpers are required for the BUPA Great Edinburgh Run on Sunday 7th October. The duties will be the same as last year with the EAC crew deployed at the finish area of the race, so from about 9.30-12.00 and may involve removing chips or handing out water/goody bags. Everyone who helped out last year will assure you that it’s not hard work and is good fun being part of the event. Over and above the feel good factor, each helper will receive a Nike jacket and a packed lunch. NOVA will also donate £20 to EAC for every helper we supply (we are looking to supply 20 helpers), so this makes a great contribution to club funds. If you are available on the 7th October, your help would be greatly appreciated, please pass your details along with jacket size to Garry or Alex or add a comment below.

EAC Scottish Gas 5k and 10k

Wild, windy Women’s 10k

On a very busy racing weekend, team EAC’s women put on a great show in Glasgow in the Women’s 10k. We took two of the podium places and (yet to be officially confirmed) were first team, in a great show of the strength and depth in our squad. And all this on a wild, latterly wet day when the temptation to stay in bed for an extra hour was very hard to resist!

Grangemouth race report – Vik Bailie

Grangemouth is never going to win any prizes for its scenery but for a race in March, it managed a huge field and a gorgeous warm sunny day. We’d been trying to get enough runners for a women’s team to challenge for the team prize and despite both of them nursing injuries, Sheenagh and Lyndsey had gallantly turned up to make up enough counters. And at registration, Garry spotted that Sue was running which was an extra bonus! Dan and Neil were leading the way for our guys with Dan on the hunt for another PB. (more…)
