Volunteers Required for EAC Scottish Gas 5k & 10k Races
We are still looking for a few helpers for the EAC/Scottish Gas 5k & 10k races this coming weekend, so if you are not running in either of the races this Sunday (01/08/10), please volunteer to help out. There are lots of tasks such as marshalling, water station, distributing race numbers, handing out t-shirts/medals/bananas etc. all easy to do and it gets you involved in the action and is great fun. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and a buffet lunch after the race.
If you are available to help, please contact Alex, Garry, or any of the organisers/coaches, all offers of help are fully appreciated.

Volunteers Required for EAC events
Our club has a number of key events and fund raisers coming up in the next few months and we need as many people as possible to help out and ensure they run smoothly and efficiently. These events raise much needed funds for the club and it would be appreciated if any club members not actually taking part in the events, could volunteer to help out at one or indeed all of them! Dunking in Dunfermline
If you thought that all road race Championship races were flat, fast affairs – think again! Although most certainly not in the league of the Skye half the day before, the Dunfermline race had its fair share of hills, twists & turns. Add in over 5 miles of cycle paths devoid of anyone but racers & a few folks manning a water station & it becomes clear that the revised Scottish Championship course is suited best to the mentally strong & internally motivated runner!
Here are accounts from Niamh Devlin & Jenny MacLean, plus results for your delectation. (more…)

This event is a significant revenue earner for the club and we’d really appreciate it if you can spare time to help out.
We would like a team leader as well as helpers for each of the following events but the more the merrier if there are more willing volunteers available: (more…)

Marathon King – London Marathon 22 April 1990
With this weeks buzz about the Edinburgh Marathon, thoughts turn to the EAC record holder for the Marathon: On the 20th Anniversary of his London Marathon win, Brian Aitken spoke to Allister Hutton.
Scotland’s Allister Hutton was a nearly man until he came through thick mist and rain like a Highland warrior from a damp Scottish moor, to win the 10th London marathon. Leading from 14 miles, the 35 year old pushed his body to the limit, to win the world’s greatest city marathon. (more…)
