Scottish 4k Cross Country Championships – 30/01/11

Another day of great EAC performances in todays Scottish 4k Cross Country Championship.

In the womens event, Emily Stewart was a fantastic 4th, just missing a medal by 3 seconds. Good back up from Jenny MacLean and Lynsey Sharp ensured a team silver medal was secured.

The men’s team never quite managed a medal, but 5th place was still an excellent result against some very strong opposition at Bellahouston, with great individual performances by both the senior and younger EAC athletes.   (more…)

Road Races To Target

The road race season if fast approaching and your training should now be in full swing if aiming to peak for the first races. One of the early 10k’s which we will be targetting as a club, is the Round The Houses 10k at Grangemouth on Sunday 27th March. It is a flat course and ideal for PB’s and fast times. Hopefully we will have a good turnout of EAC athletes and we will be in the mix to pick up some of the individual and team prizes on offer as well as register a few PB’s.

As a good build up to this, there are a couple of other races, 2 weeks apart, providing a perfect preparation for Grangemouth. As well as providing race practice, experience and the possibility of EAC prize winners (both individuals and teams), they are very enjoyable and interesting races and both have a fantastic selection of food available for runners after the race!   (more…)
