Jonathan’s Hill Update – 27/02/11

1st and 2nd March 1991 – WHAT WERE YOU DOING THEN?

What were you doing 20 years ago?  Tucked up in bed with you hot chocolate and Beano? Little did you know of the sporting drama that was unfolding high on the Pennine Moors while you slept. Only now can the true tale be told.   However, even after all this time some of the characters involved will have to remain anonymous.     (more…)

EAC Club Kit

I have circulated a large number of the Endurance Squad re club kit, but for anyone not on that email list, there is an opportunity to get some customised Club Kit. To start with, we have a Running Jacket (optional matching trowsers),  and a long sleeve top.

The running Jacket is the one which you often see myself and Alex wearing at training sessions, (see photo) a Blue Brooks jacket and we will be getting Edinburgh Athletic Club printed on the back.  This will be priced at about £29. (It may be about £1 more depending on exact cost of printing). The jacket comes in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL. There are also matching trowsers available to buy separately at a cost of £22. I will be ordering the jackets this coming Friday 4th March. So if you would like to order, please let me know what size you require before then.   (more…)

Cupar 5 Mile Road Race 26/02/11 – Results

It was a very successful start to the Road Race Season by EAC athletes at the Cupar 5 mile road race on Saturday 26th Feb. Neil Renault smashing the course record to win the race in 23.52, with Bryan Mackie taking 3rd place in 25.22.

Lots of hard training over the winter ensured that Keith, Kirk, Kim, and Vik all recorded PB’s in a glorious day in Fife with the weather being perfect for fast times. Garry, Brian and Eric also had good runs although perhaps not quite PB territory!   Photo’s at   roadrunpics.com    and further photo’s from David Smyth at http://web.me.com/dsmyth/Home/C5-11-S2.html   (more…)

Endurance Squad Weekend Workouts – 24/02/11

Since we are targetting the Cupar 5 mile road race on Saturday, there will be no meadows session on Saturday morning. There will be the usual Sunday morning long run at 9.00am from Craiglockhart Tennis Centre, meet in the top car park before heading out on paths and trails to Balerno and beyond with run distances from 12-16 miles.

Good luck to everyone racing at Cupar and also anyone running in the Blackpool 1/2 Marathon on Sunday… looking forward to the race report Dan.
