The EAC woman did us proud at the Scottish Road Relay Championships at Livingston, with the Senior and Masters team both getting silver medals. A great team effort with inspired individual performances. In the Senior team, Vik led the team out with the second fastest short leg time of the day and Jenny in the last leg posted the second fastest long leg time of the day, add superb backing from Issy and Jo and EAC were very deserved silver medal winners. The Masters team took up the challenge and Sharyn, Karen, Elaine & Sue followed them all the way to the podium.       (more…)

Lothian Trials, Meadowbank, Sunday 8th April

The main spotlight this Saturday is on the Scottish Road Relays at Livingston, good luck to all the teams taking part and well done to everyone going along to help.  

On Sunday there will be the usual long training run at 9am from Craiglockhart Sports Centre. Meet in the top car park and we will head out on the Canal and Water of Leith paths to Balerno and beyond, with run distances of 12-16 miles, mainly on paths and trails. A range of distances and a range of speeds, all welcome, just turn up and join in.

Grangemouth is never going to win any prizes for its scenery but for a race in March, it managed a huge field and a gorgeous warm sunny day. We’d been trying to get enough runners for a women’s team to challenge for the team prize and despite both of them nursing injuries, Sheenagh and Lyndsey had gallantly turned up to make up enough counters. And at registration, Garry spotted that Sue was running which was an extra bonus! Dan and Neil were leading the way for our guys with Dan on the hunt for another PB. (more…)

The main target race this weekend was the Grangemouth ‘Round the Houses’ 10k. With close to 1000 runners and many of Scotlands top athletes taking part, it’s a great early season test of form and EAC athletes performed very well. Vik was 3rd Female, Neil 1st V50, Sue 2nd Vet and in the Team categories, 1st Female team. Congratulations to Alex Carcas, Josh Kerr and Rosanna Stewart, who have been selected to represent the Scottish Schools at  the Aviva Schools Cross Country International, which  will take place at Strathallan, Perth on 31st March.
