This Saturday it’s back to cross country duty with the East District League match at Stirling. We would encourage everyone to come along and run, you do not need to have pre-entered. Just turn up at Stirling in plenty of time, wear a club vest and the number ’1′ which is our team number. If you don’t have a number from last year, pick one up from the EAC team managers at Stirling. Please note that Vet’s should write a ‘V’ on their numbers and Juniors a ‘J’.
The league runs over 3 different races and this is the first race, league titles are up for grabs for Male, Female and Masters and then all results are combined along with the juniors for the overall title, so we need a good turnout in all categories! Don’t assume that we will have enough counters, we need YOU!!!
Women’s race is about 6k and starts at 1.35, the Men’s is about 9k and starts at 2.30. The course is suitable for studs or spikes. For further details see http://www.eastleague.co.uk/
For sharing travel, the Men’s squad are meeting at PC World, leaving there at 12.30. If anyone is going directly to Stirling University, please try to collect a number at the Gannochy Sports Centre from Alex by 13.30. From there it’s 800m to the Start, so if you are late, look out for the EAC banner which will be close to the Start and you should be able to get a number from someone there.
Saturday night will see post run chat at Sarah’s leaving night, but we needn’t worry, Sarah’s not going far or for long and will still be racing for us
On Sunday at 9.00, there will be the usual long training run from Craiglockhart Sports Centre, meet in the top car park and we will head out on the Canal and Water of Leith paths to Balerno and beyond, with run distances of 12-16 miles mainly on paths and trails. Just turn up and join in.
Have a great weekend of running.
