Do you provide lockers to store belongings during the run? I’ll probably come by bus, so lockers would be really useful for me…
Hi Dominik, unfortunately we don’t have any lockers which you could use. There will be an area to leave bags, but we take no responsibility for any valuables that are left. We would advise that you do not leave valuable items in this area.
Obviously if you arrive by bus, you are likely to have at a minimum some money and keys with you. It would probably be safest to put these into a small pocket/bumbag/wrist band etc. and keep with you during the run.
Is it possible to see last year’s results anywhere?
Hi Crinan, you can find last year’s results here.
Are entries accepted on the day of the race?
Hi Jack, after we close online entry on Friday, we’ll take a look at the numbers entered against the provisions we’ve made for t-shirts, medals etc, and decide from there. Sorry I can’t give you a yes or no at the moment.
Where do we get our numbers? On the day or are they sent out by post?
Hi Tracey, as you’ve registered online, you should collect your number from the start. Please bring your confirmation from EntryCentral with you.
Had you registered by post, your number would have been sent out to you, as there was no space for email address on the hard copy forms.
Hi, I don’t have a printer but will have the email receipt in electronic form. Will this be a problem tomorrow?
We’ll ask for your home address as verification, if you don’t have the printout. See you tomorrow!
Thanx to EAC for a well organised and enjoyable event. Great t-shirts too! Maybe just me but I didn’t seem to feel the benefit of running WITH the with after the turn at Cramond!!! See you next year for a PB.
Hi James, glad you enjoyed the race, thank you for entering. I only saw the final design of the t-shirts today, and agree they look great. We did our best with the weather, but the wind did seem to be blowing everywhere… Hope to see you next year for that PB!
Enjoyed todays event, pity about the wind very strong on the way out to Cramond but after the turn it vanished, instead of providing the expected help on the way back, but still a good route
Thanks for the positive feedback, Martin.
Great event. Will be sure to register for next year. Thanks to those who organised it.
Glad you enjoyed it. Good to hear that you will be coming back next year!
Thanks for a great event. I’d been hoping to do substantially better than last year but this didn’t happen. (I preferred the weather last year by a long way.) But I suppose that I’ll just have to come back next year and try again.
Thanks again.
We look forward to seeing you next year. If you’d like to join us for training, get in touch — it’ll make that improvement more noticeable.
hi thanks for a well organised race today – really enjoyed it (well apart from the hill at the end which I didn’t realise was there – horrific!!)
I’ll be back next year for sure
We look forward to seeing you next year!
Had a great run today, im pretty new to running and this was my first 10km race. Have only run a 10km 3 times before by myself and managed to beat my personal best so far by 9mins at 1 hour 0 mins 40 secs. Pretty pleased and a well organised enjoyable event it was too. Im hoping to be there next year! When are the official results likely to be available online?
Susan, we’ll have results online tomorrow. They’re being verified right now.
What a great day for a run! Despite that horrible headwind on the way out, we all enjoyed sitting in the sun at the finish line cheering on the other runners. Well done to everyone (especially those running for the Pilton Community Health Project) and thanks to Scottish Gas for organising a great event. See you next year!
Glad you enjoyed it, Sharon. The run is organised by us (Edinburgh Athletic Club) with great support from Scottish Gas and a number of other groups.
We look forward to welcoming you next year, hopefully without the annoying headwind.
Hi there..Just wanted to say really enjoyed the 5k race, first time at the scottish gas one..lived in Inverness before so a little far away..will certainly do it next year..I actually quite enjoyed the challenge of the hill at the end( must have a masochistic streak lol )Well done on a great event thank you!! looking forward to see if I bet my PB but with that wind I doubt it very much
Hi Adele, glad you enjoyed the race. We’ll request lighter winds next year to make PBs possible.
Hi, Sorry to ask but do you have any idea when 5k results will be available please? Thanks
Adele, the 5k results are now posted here.
I am still unable to view the 2009 5k results?
Great Race though!
Ailsa
Hi Ailsa, I’ve updated the post, but please try this direct link to the 5k results as a web page. If that doesn’t work, leave a comment and I’ll send them to you.
5k results now on scottish athletics website/road race fixtures
The link to results is broken – 2009 results are not listed
Hi Robert, the results are most definitely appearing for me, beside the date ’2/8/09′.
I also have a problem seeing the 2009 results using Google Chrome (only shows up to 08). Link is fine when using Explorer or Firefox. Maybe it is a browser problem Robert?
How very strange. I’ve updated the post to have direct links. Let me know if that helps. Thanks for the pointer, James.
Be sure to check this post here for results and photos.
