I’m just wondering if people actually realise I am now competing for Edinburgh AC as first claim and I have competed 3 times during this indoor season.
I threw 13.02 in the Northern Athletics Championships. I don’t appear to be in the rankings.
    Thanks
    Hannah

The link to the 2008 outdoor rankings doesn’t seem to be working.

  • Scott Reed says:

I’ve just checked out the new Power of 10 website and the standards have gone up by a huge amount. For instance U15 girls now require to throw over 23metres for discus, 25 meters for Javelin and 9 meters for shot, whereas before it used to be about 18 meters for discus and javelin and 7 meters for shot.

This is going to be hugely disappointing for many of our young athletes who will no longer qualify to be on the Power of 10 site. There are now only 3 U15 female and 2 U15 male athletes from the club on the site.

They seem to have adopted the same standards as those of Athleticsdata.com which are much stricter.

This is going to come as a bit of a blow to many of our young athletes who have worked hard to achieve the previous standards but are no longer considered.

On reading the info on the Power of 10 website it suggests that more athletes will feature later this month. The site is new and it will take time to build it up to the previous levels.

There are a couple of interesting new features.

Does anyone have the 2009 Power of 10 standards yet ?
