QUEENS DRIVE RACE CANCELLED.
Following a course inspection this morning and discussions with the Park Rangers it has been decided to cancel the race. Ice on the downhill section has meant that the organisers cannot guarantee safe running conditions.
EAC apologises for the inconvenience that this has caused.
Due to the current weather conditions, we will make a safety review of the route on Sunday morning at around 11am, and will update the site & Twitter following that.

The annual EAC Queens Drive 5k Race takes place this year on 20th December at 1pm. Entries are available on the day or right now through Entry Central. Detailed information on the race along with a location map is available on the Entry Central site. Click the Entry Central logo to go to the Queens Drive page on the Entry Central site.
Our flyer for the race can be downloaded here.

Hello,
We will stay at Frederik House Hotel at
42 Frederick Street
Edinburgh, EH2 3, United Kingdom
Please can you let me know how I can arrive at Chancellor’s Court.
We will just arrive from the Netherlands, so we will be in a hurry.
kind regards,
Bernadette
Hi Bernadette,
The quickest way to get over to Pollock Halls- Chancellors, where the race facilities are located, is by taxi. Given that you have limited time and that its a Sunday I wouldn’t recommend using buses.
Thanks for your interest in our race.

Hi,
The weather today has been seen considerable snow fall. It is forcast to freeze overnight and tomorrow.
Will this affect the race as I may be travelling quite a distance.
Many Thanks
Doug
Douglas,
The decision as to whether the race will be affected by the weather will be made tomorrow when we can see exactly what state the roads and pavements are in. The weather can change fast at this time of year!
If any decisions are taken about the race today they will be announced here immediately.

I ran the race route this morning and the road was frozen solid and the footpaths were the same, with the exception of the bottom Holyrood stretch where it was fine. On the downhill streatch the grass was the safest option. Running was possible although at a slower pace than normal and with some care. I also wore trail shoes which helped. Looking forward to hopefully racing tomorrow.
Regards,
Alastair
