  1. Ann Says:

I can’t find the online entry for Scottish Gas races on Scottish Athletics….. Is it available yet?

  2. Irene Says:

Hi I am interested in taking part in the 5km race but am not affilliated to any club and do not have a SAL number. Can I enter as an unattached entry?
    Thanks

  3. Ian Says:

Grateful for notification of on-line entry

  4. Garry Says:

Hi Irene, no problem, there is absolutely no requirement to be a member of a club or Scottish Athletics, the race is open to all and everyone is more than welcome. The only difference if you are not affilliated, is that you have to pay the ‘unattached’ entry fee, which unfortunately is £14 rather than £12. Our club has to pay the extra £2 over to Scottish Athletics as an unattached levy.

  5. Sean Says:

Hi I’m interested in taking part in the 10km race, is there a route plan that I can download or be sent via e-mail?

  6. Alastair Says:

Hi, I would be grateful if you could notify me when the on-line entry is open.

  7. martin Says:

Sean — the route maps are now online. Thanks for the suggestion/request. Hopefully others will find that useful too.

  11. eddie Says:

    Grateful for notification

  12. Crinan Alexander Says:

Do the Masters tick boxes on the entry form imply membership of anything or just that you are ‘of a certain age’ - similar to ‘vet’ and ’supervet’?

  13. Dipo Says:

Please let me know when on-line entry is available.

  14. Garry Says:

Crinan, ‘Masters’ is just the modern name for ‘vet’, it’s purely age driven.

  15. Gill Says:

Please can you notify me when on-line entry available..thanks

  16. Keith D Says:

Please can you notify me when on-line entry available..thanks

  17. Carol Says:

Hi, can you tell me if this is a suitable 5k for novices to do - i’ve only done 1 with a time of 32 mins and wondering if this is bit too competitive for me? Cheers.

  18. Mark Says:

Please let me know when online entry is available. Thanks.

  19. Nik Says:

Can you notify me when on-line entry is available. Thank you.

  21. martin Says:

Online entry is now open for business: http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/index.php?p=80&itemType=fixtures&itemId=7340 .

  22. Marianne Says:

I am coming from Dundee for the day by train. Any easy way of getting to the venue by public transport?

  23. eddie Says:

    #17 Carol

Best way to find this out is to look at the times of previous races and compare with your own estimated time. Will give you an idea of the standard. Don’t be put off by the sub 20 mins folk. There are probably quite a few 30+ minute runners as well. Results for last years 5k can be found here:

    http://www.runningresults.co.uk/gas10k/index.html

  24. Rupe Says:

Can I enter on the day like last year? Have a slightly dodgy knee & don’t want to waste my entry.

    Cheers.

  25. Paul Thompson Says:

Hi there, can you advise where I can get a copy of last year’s results?

    Cheers

  26. martin Says:

Paul, results are online here: http://www.runningresults.co.uk/gas10k/index.html .

  27. John Polley Says:

Anyone know the answer to Rupe’s question about whether we can enter on the day?

  28. Alastair Scott Says:

Hi there.Got my number and info letter today. Is the start time a “gun” time a I take it the timing isn`t chipped? Also, is there a drink station en-route? Many thanks,
    Al

  29. Graham Says:

Will there be Kilometre markers on the course?

  30. Nick Says:

I’ve still not recieved my number in the post. Are they still being sent out, and can I expect it to arrive today or tomorrow?
If it does not arrive will it be a problem?

  31. Kirsty Stoddart Says:

I received my number about 10 day ago and can’t find it anywhere. I notice there is a helpdesk on the day. What time does it open, will I need dome form of id and overall do you think it will be a problem. Thanks

  32. Graham Rule Says:

Help! I think the run is taking place in Kansas. Presumably it is a faulty link on the website that shows the 10k run in the USA. Either that or the run is a lot longer than I thought. Hopefully it will be marked.

  33. Graham Rule Says:

Thanks to all the organisers for a great event.

  34. Fiona Says:

Although i enjoyed the race i was disappointed by the lack of a water station on the course. Those of us at the tail end of the race need the water stop as much (if not more) as the front runners since we spend longer out there in the heat. I just don’t understand how the organisers could have miscalculated the 10k entry so badly so that so many had to do without water during the race. Very disappointing considering how well everything else was organised.

  35. Alison Morris Says:

I’d like to add my thanks too - this was my first ever race and I foud the encouragement and friendly banter from the marshals along the course a huge help in keeping going! A big thank you to all who gave up their time to help. It was much appreciated.

  36. Elspeth Says:

Thanks for organsing a great race, there was such a nice atmosphere and it was all so smoothly organised. :)

  37. Alastair Scott Says:

It`s fixed,I`m up there now! Many thanks indeed.
