Thanks to all who helped organise, sponsored and took part in yesterday’s 5k & 10k races. Despite some strong winds blowing away(!) the chance for PBs on the course, the sun shined and runners finished with smiles on their faces. A full report will be available in the next few days.
We have results for the 10k race at the moment, with 5k results expected this afternoon. The top three in the 10k were:
1 Amanuel Hagos (Shettleston H) 31.07
2 Matthew Graham (MJ) (Kirkintilloch Oly) 32.17
3 John Newsom (Pitreavie AAC) 32.21
And in the 5k were:
1 Zak Boukelia (Unatt) 16.21
2 Neil Calder (Edinburgh AC) 16.35
3 Jeff Farquhar (M35) (Pitreavie AAC) 16.51

If you enjoyed the race, and would like to beat your time in the 2010 race, why not join one of our training sessions? We meet on the following days, and the calendar is on the right of the site:
- Tuesday: Meadowbank
- Wednesday: Meadows (ladies only)
- Thursday: Meadows
- Saturday: Meadows
- Sunday: Craglockhart Tennis Centre, usually running out along the canal paths
There is no obligation to join the club before participating in a training session.

The club first organised the race in 1983 when it was a 10 miler!John sherban features as a past winner and I am checking more of the history. At least two of the original organisers were there on Sunday!We have shortened it and introduced the 5k over the years.
