Robin Morris

It is with great sadness that we report that one of the real characters of Scottish Hill Running, Robin Morris, died on Sunday morning from cancer.Robin was one of the founders of the SHR (or SHRA as it was originally) in 1983 and the first Secretary. He also won the first Scottish Hill Running Champion in that year. Early History

In the 1970’s Robin was Edinburgh Athletic Club  track captain and the team made great progress in the British Athletic League, rising through the divisions from IV to I, after qualifying at Crystal Palace. The team were in the European Club Cross Country Championships 4 times.

Robin’s funeral will take place on Friday 16th February 12:30
at Christ Church Morningside, a celebration of life his life then a wake in the church hall.
then at Mortonhall  4.00pm in the  large chapel  for a short committal.
All welcome to attend either or both.
