Scottish 10K Championships

Scottish 10000m Championships – 26 August

Entries are now open for the Scottish National Championships 10,000m, which takes place on Wednesday 26th August.

 The event, with a prize pool of £850 for individuals and teams, will be held prior to the televised international athletics meeting in Grangemouth (the Golden League Final) – to be launched later this month – provisionally at 6.10pm.

 Entries are open online through the scottishathletics website (£7.50) and close on Friday 14th August.

 One mixed race will be held and the suggested qualifying marks are sub 36.00 (men) and sub 40.00 (women).
Prize money will be awarded as follows for both the men’s and women’s Championship:

1st individual: £150
2nd individual: £75
3rd individual: £50

Team prize money for scottishathletics affiliated clubs (first claim status) based on cumulative times (three to score for both men and women):

1st: £100
2nd: £50

 On the track referee’s advice, entries will close, or be limited to 3-4 per club team, if more than 40 entries are received prior to the closing date.

    Standards should attract a decent male and female entry from EAC . Go for it as there will be no hills, barriers , grass, quirky changes of directioon or poor stewards.. Follow the white line for 25 laps 1 Serious give it ago.
