Another solid team performance secured a 4th place finish for Edinburgh ladies in the final fixture of the 2018 campaign in Southhampton on Saturday.  Only match points could separate Edinburgh from Blackheath and Bromely, who finished in 3rd place.

There was a superb win for Alisha Rees in the A string 200 in 23.62  backed up by a close 2nd place in the 100 in 11. 64 just outside her own U20 Scottish record.

U20 Emily Craig won the B string 400 hurdles,  Rebecca Burns won the B string 3000 and Alex Burns won the B string long jump.  There were a string of 2nd and 3rd places from Sarah Warnock, Emily Dudgeon, Avril Jackson, Stephanie Pennnycook, Nathalie Robbins, Stephanie Fowler, Nakita Gray, Sam Coleby Lauren Stoddart and Kirsten Mullen.

It was the end of an era for Avril Jackson, who chose this match to end her 400 metres hurdles career. A former Scottish Champion over the event Avril is one of the club’s most loyal athletes with a remarkable career which spans 3 decades of representing the club from U13 to Senior and hopefully we will still see her pull on the club vest next season.
