Marjory Cook started in a coaching position where she coached multiple events for the younger athletes. Her daughters competed in sprints and Hurdles with the City of Edinburgh. Marjory then moved to officiating for the club and also at major Championships. Marjory also officiated for the cross-country which became her passion.

Marjory was President of the Scottish Women’s Cross Country Union and served on the selection committee for Scotland., she was also on the organising committee for the World Cross Country held in Edinburgh.

Marjory hosted east district selection meetings at her house where we always enjoyed coffee and cake. Marjory also helped doing results for many years alongside Moira Reid both for league meetings on the track and cross-country.

Marjory was a strong advocate for women in sport and supported her daughters track side for many years as they competed across the UK in the hurdles.
