Bronze in the Relay
Well done to all ourathletes competing on the final day of the athletics.
Beth Dobbin wins Bronze with the 4x400m Relay Team (Zoey Clark, Jill Cherry and Nicole Yeargin)
The Scottish Team finished in 4th place in 3:30.15, but with England disqualified they moved into the Bronze medal position.
Beth hadalready raced in the 200m individual final, where she was 8th
“I never thought I would compete at a champs like theCommonwealth in my career – far less win a medal”,
“I’ve just worked away to improve over the years and I always sayit was my dad (Jim) who got me into and it and pushed me to try and representScotland.”
Also Competing on the final day of the athletics were:
Alisha Rees and Sarah Malone along with Rebecca Mathison and Tayla Spence werein the final of the 4x100m Relay, the first time Scotland had had a team in that final since 1986, were 8th in 45.01
In the 5000m , U23 athlete Eloise Walker competing in her first major final was 20th.
