For the third year in a row EAC is helping out with the Activity Mix Corporate Highland Games event at Merchiston school on Saturday 24th July. The event will see businesses from across Edinburgh competing in a range of events. We are looking for willing volunteers to help out on the day. This event is a significant revenue earner for the club and we’d really appreciate it if you can spare time to help out.We would like a team leader as well as helpers for each of the following events but the more the merrier if there are more willing volunteers available:Event                            number of helpersLONG JUMP                 3TUG WAR                      1CABER ( light)             2SPRINT                          3   including a starterIRISH HAMMER        2  a two-handed heave throwTRAIL or XC RUN     5                                   The standard of participants is very mixed and so you would need to balance encouragement with safety and measurement. No coaching would be involved beyond showing the basic technique for the particular event.Following a briefing at 10:30am, the events will start at 12 with a series of trials and the champion from each company at each event will then move on to compete in the finals in the afternoon.You would need to be over 14 and available from 10:30 until around 4pm on Saturday 24th July.
