Well done to our Senior Men who won the Allan Scally Road Relay trophy, a fantastic event. Nearly 200 teams. Relays are brilliant - great for spectating and chatting and camaraderie. The obvious highlight was the men’s A team winning the overall title from Central. Goes to show what it takes to win these kinds of events - Olympians and 13/14-minute 5k runners on the A-team. Mike Christoforou on his EAC swansong started the last leg in first place, just a few seconds ahead of Ali Hay of Central. Thrilling to watch top class racing. The gap was maintained with a tailwind, and maintained with a headwind, and maintained until the final mile on the home stretch, and then Mike cracked him in the final km to bring it home and sign off in style.

Good to see so many EAC teams out, good runs throughout on a fairly challenging windy day. At least the rain held off...! Kudos to Ian Whitaker and Stuart Johnston for organising everything and everyone - no small task. Not only can Stuart organise but he can run as well, backing up his 15:20ish in Armagh with 15:40ish today.
