Silver for Chris

In a fighting finish, Chris O’Hare gritted his teeth to winSilver in the 3000m at the European Championships in Glasgow. Chris took the silver on a photo finishfrom Henrik Ingebritsen – with both athletes timed at 7.57.19 – as JacobIngebritsen landed gold.

‘With 200m to go I thought I’ve got bronze and triedto give it everything I had to be on Henrik’s shoulder, and it took me a lot toget on his shoulder, but then round the bend the crowd just erupted,’ saidChris.

‘That roar insidethe Emirates Arena really does kind of pick you up an chuck you towards theline.

‘Obviously everymedal is different by way of what it took to get there – I got my first two asa rookie on the scene. Now I am maybe kind of the old boy so it’s good to kindof get back on medal standing and be rewarded for four years of hard work.’
