Throws and Jumps GP

Dundee proved an excellent venue for our Throws and Jumps GP event onSaturday – with a series of fine performances offering encouragement toathletes and coaches.

This was the second event for our jumpers and throwers and itwas good to have almost 200 competing.

Triple jumper Bera Ajala hadwon the England Athletics U20 title the week before in Bedford and he broughtthat good form to Tayside.

Coached by John Scott, Bera leapt out to 15.64m with the +2.2 wind reading only slightly taking the shine off that terrific effort.

Also in the Triple Jump with a 2nd Place was Henry Clarkson (Senior) with 14.72m Henry is coached by Linda Nicholson

KynaForbes was 2nd U15 with 8.90m

Cameron Forbes certainly enjoyed hishigh jump competition as he enjoyed a double PB – first clearing 1.94m and then1.97m. The Edinburgh U20 athlete is coached by Keith Ridley and Moira Maguire.

In the Javelin JeannieMardon (U17) threw 28.57. Coached by Dougie Cameron.

In the Shot Put CalvinSimpson was 2nd U17 with 12.21m
