Edinburgh ladies had an excellent start to their 2017 campaign with a second place finish behind Thames Valley Harriers in the UK Womens Athletic League. Thames Valley Harriers           234.5Edinburgh AC                          217.0Birchfield Harriers                   216.0Windsor Slough                      179.0Swansea Harriers                  167.0Shaftesbury Barnet                157.0Blackheath & Bromley            126.6Woodford Green/Essex          112.0Our 4 x 400m Ladies in the new club kit Despite the cold and blustery conditions there were PBs for Beth Dobbin in the 100 and 200 and from Stephie Pennycook in the 3000 metres.Alisha Rees dipped under the qualifying times for the European Junior Championships in both the 100 and 200 winning both A string events.Emma Nuttall and Susan McKelvie had strong performances on their way to victories in the High Jump and Hammer while there was a win for Lauren Stoddart in the steeplechase, despite running the final 3 laps with her shoe lace undone!Gillian Cooke was a winner of the B Long Jump and it was a victory for Beth in the 200 metres B string.Fresh from a silver medal and a team bronze at the Scottish 5k championships at Silverknowes on the Friday evening Rebecca Burns jumped on a flight and secured maximum points in the 1500 B string.12 seasons bests were recorded in this very strong team performance and the new club kit proved to be eye catching and extremely comfortable.Moira Maguire
