Kevin competed for Edinburgh AC in the 1970s, starting as a high jumper and moving to decathlon and winning Scottish titles in both high Jump and decathlon.
He got involved in coaching pole vault, when his younger daughter Kirsty took up the event and he guided both Gillian Cooke (Manchester) and Kirsty Maguire (Melbourne) to Scottish Commonwealth Games representation.
He enjoys working with both beginners and elite level athletes and coaches a number of Scotland's top decathletes in the pole vault.
