The young athletes were delighted to be presented with certificates and trophies by Olympian Lynsey Sharp. Lynsey first came to Edinburgh Athletic Club (then Edinburgh Southern Harriers) at the age of 8,  a year earlier than the official joining age because she came with sister Carly; so she was not allowed to join or compete until she was 9. As a youngster she took part in all Track and Field events and Cross – Country and is therefore a great inspiration to the young athletes who met her on Thursday.  She brought wth her, her European Silver Medal and took part in photo calls and certificate signing. Lynsey was ably assisted by Jamie McDonald from Scottish Athletics and we are grateful to them both for making the occasion such a special event.(Pat Sinclair)     view photographs in our gallery page
