What an Olympic debut from Beth Dobbin as a strong run takes second place and one of three automatic places in her Women’s 200m heat.

The Scottish Record holder clocked 22:78 to make sure of progress to a semi-final coming up later today (11.25am our time).It was great to see Beth looking so at home at this level and coming up with a fine run (which equalled her SB) after, by her own admission, ‘never, ever’ believing one day she would be an Olympian!

Beth finished fifth in her Women’s 200m semi-final in Japan with a run of 22.85.Only the top two were guaranteed progress to the final.

It was so good to see the Edinburgh AC athlete competing at this level again and we hope to see her again with GB and NI in the 4x100m Relay.
