After 35 years of coaching with Edinburgh Southern Harriers / Edinburgh Athletic Club, Bob Moxey has retired from coaching.
Bob started coaching with Edinburgh Southern Harriers Ladies in 1987 when his daughter Stacey joined the club, Stacey would go on to become the Under 15 Scottish Champion in the 75m Hurdles.
Starting with the young athletes multi-events group, Bob moved on to start his own Sprints group with great success, producing may Scottish Champions in the U13-U15-U17 Girls age groups.
Among the many athletes he coached at the start of their athletics career are these Internationals,
Libby Clegg, Sarah Malone, Jayne Nisbet, Emma Nuttall, Lynsey Sharp and Sarah Warnock.
For many years Bob was team manager for theĀ girls in the Young Athletes Development League also the Scottish Ladies League and the Scottish Relay Championship squads, with a huge success over a number of years, helping to guide the YDL team to many UK finals and winning the UK Premier League in 2015, also winning numerous Scottish League titles and Scottish Relay victories.
Bob was awarded the Donald Gorrie Trophy for outstanding contribution to Edinburgh AC.
Bob was a great inspiration to the Club and the Athletes and will be greatly missed.
