Elspeth Morris received a 40 yr service recognition award by UKA presented at the Officials Commission AGM on Saturday 1st May.
Elsie started to help at the club when her daughter Lorraine joined the club in 1971
As well as becoming an official for the club she was also a middle distance coach for many years giving up coaching about 15 years ago.
She was also President of Edinburgh southern Ladies for 15 years
Elsie has officiated at the UKWAL since it began as the Motorway League some many years ago. As well as the many appointments to UKA matches she has also officiated at three Commonwealth Games: Edinburgh in 1986, Manchester in 2002 and Glasgow 2014.
Elsie is a valued official for the club and has helped and encouraged many parents to offer their time and become officials to help the club.
EAC wish to congratulate Elsie on her UK Athletics service award and say “thank you” for all the hours she has given to the club in her role as Parent, President Coach as well as Official. Well done Elsie.
