Tom Scott 10 mile Scottish Championships

The Tom Scott 10 mile , incorporating the Scottish 10 mile Championships were held at the Strathclyde Country Park.

It’s a great venue for racing, and there was perfect weather with no wind and acceptable temperatures… (got away without gloves…!)

Some tweaks to the course this year meant there was no twisty hilly section, but instead there were three long drags out the back of the loch, one sharp U-turn, a wee bit of trail, and some really narrow coned section, but the upside to this was no hurdling of dogs (and their owners) on the old twisty hilly section. It’s probably a slightly slower course overall, but there was still some great running on display.

EAC ladies won silver (Sara Brown Hazel MacCormick, Janet), the men just missed out on bronze, and Janet was also 3rd F50. There was clearly a lot of marathon training going on out there today (10m runs don’t last for 30-odd km!) with Manchester, London and Edinburgh coming up soon..
