Five Medal Haul for Young Edinburgh & Lothian Athletes
Seven young athletes from Edinburgh AC and Lasswade AC made the long trip down to Bedford over the weekend to compete in the Aviva English U20 & U23 Championships & World Trials.
The standout performance came from Sarah Warnock (Edinburgh Athletic Club) in the women’s U20 long jump event where she won silver medal with a jump of 6.07m. This was a huge 23 cm improvement on her previous PB and moves her up to No 3 in the UK Power of 10 rankings
Alan Hamilton (Edinburgh Athletic Club) won a bronze in the men’s U20 Long Jump with a new PB jump of 7.14
Hannah Evenden (Edinburgh Athletic Club) again showed her consistency picking up two bronze medals from the throwing circle. Throws of 55.11m in the Hammer and 44.62m in the Discus consolidated her at position No. 3 in the UK Power of 10 rankings.
Ross McManus (Edinburgh Athletic Club) was 12th in the U20 hammer with a throw of 52.07m.
On the track Greg Louden (Lasswade AC) picked up a very creditable silver medal in the 400 metres with a new PB of 48.45.
