Alisha and Beth set new records

SCOTTISH RECORD ALERT!
Word is reaching us of a superb performance by sprinter BETH DOBBIN to take the Scottish Women’s 200m record which has stood for 34 years!
Beth clocked 22.84 for a big PB in a league match today and (subject to the usual ratification process) that eclipses the Record held since 1984 by our own  Sandra Whittaker at 22.98.

Great news and terrific progress by Beth this season – after missing out on the 200m qualifying time for Gold Coast by a single hundredth in 2017. What a determined response.

Not to be outdone Alisha Rees followed Beth by improving on her own existing National U20 100m record, from 11.62 down to 11.59 which is also a World Juniors qualifying time.

Well done to Alisha, Beth and their  families  and their coach Leon Baptiste!
