CARLY  & DANIEL BEATTIE

 A one minute silence will be held at the Scottish Womens League Match at Meadowbank on Sunday 19th June, at 12.25pm.
In the memory of  Carly and Daniel Beattie who were both members of Edinburgh Athletic Club.
The brother and sister were killed in a plane crash in Florida on 9^th June.
(A minutes silence was also held today at the JSB Plumbing Forth Valley meeting in Grangemouth.)

 Our thoughts go out to their parents Elaine and Tom Beattie. Tom Beattie is a coach with Edinburgh AC.

Daniel was a member, of the club, in his early years but then followed his career in music, studying at Salford University.

Carly competed for the club in all the age group Leagues, represented Scottish Schools and Scotland in the sprint events.

The Funeral will be held next Thursday, 23^rd June at Mortonhall  Crematorium at 11am.

It us to be a Celebration of their lives and the family do not anyone to wear mourning clothing, they would prefer something bright. An earlier service will be held at the “Sacred Heart” in Penicuik at 9am.

 It is proposed to organise a “Memorial Race” on behalf of the Beatties, and a collection will be made throughout today. The monies raised will be used to set up a fund to maintain the continuation of the proposed race.  Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund may add their donation in the collection box which will be in the Declaration Room which is under the Control Room.
