It was a very successful trip to the England multi event championships in Sheffield for the Edinburgh AC multi eventers.
Pride of place goes to Howard Bell, who finished in 6th position in the Senior heptathlon with a huge personal best score of 5312. As the highest finishing U23 his selection for the GB international in Cardiff at the end of the month should be confirmed.
Scott Connal returned from a 2 year lay off following injury in stunning style, finishing in 5th place in the U20 heptathlon with a personal best score and a New Club Record of 5026.
Cal McLennan in his first Senior heptathlon showed that his relocation to Loughborough is paying dividends, finishing in 13th position with a huge PB score of 4863, which included 6 PBs, just missing out on the perfect “7”.
