Scottish 5k championships, Cramond.

Cramond wouldn’t be Cramond without a howling wind and Friday night didn’t disappoint. A strong westerly was blowing which led to some super-quick first miles and then a long slog back to the final turn, then a final half-mile back to the finish to see what was left in the tank. The racing was fast and furious and closely packed.

Top 3 EAC Male athletes were:
Ewan Cameron, Noah Howlett  and Iain Whitaker, all in the low 15-minute bracket.

Top 3 EAC females were:
Sarah Brown  (17:30), Hazel MacCormick (18:51) and Jacqueline Rainger (19:14).

Well done to
Janet Dunbar who took F50 gold in 19:53.
Ewan Cameron was 2nd M40.
Hazel MacCormick was 3rd F40.

Surely this is the only race in the world that gives pineapples are prizes so hopefully some of the prize winners above got pineapples. The question would be, do you eat it or put it in the trophy cabinet or on the mantelpiece…?! Well done to everyone, it was a tough evening for running but good to see the race back!
