Scottish Athletics Indoor League, Sunday 18th November, Kelvin Hall
The timetable for the indoor league can be viewed here: Indoor League Timetable
The League caters for athletes in the U11 – U20 age groups both male and female. The league is structured into a morning and afternoon session to accommodate the number of Clubs taking part. Edinburgh AC compete in the afternoon.
There are three matches. The first 2 clubs from the morning and afternoon in each age group automatically qualify for the final match along with the best placed 3 rd either from the morning or afternoon.
In the final match there is a 4 x 200m relay. If clubs do not qualify they can still enter a relay team at the final.
Match 1 and 2 are at Kelvin Hall and 3 and the final at the new Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
Athletes compete by selection only.
The first Indoor League meeting of the season will be held on Sunday 18th November in the Kelvin Hall Glasgow. We are competing in the afternoon session which states a 1.30 start on the attached but in view of the large number of clubs competing is more likely to start at 2.00. The order of events/timetable for the meeting is attached please note there are no times as it is a rolling programme.
For U11s competing for the first time I will have a selection of kit vests £10 both for girls and boys and red pants which the girls wear are also £10 for you to buy on the day.
For directions please refer to the club website under the heading fixtures & directions. As it is the first meeting it is always a bit hectic so please bare with us and those not new to competing please can you help others. There will be coaches on the day to keep you right. You will need your spikes (I am assuming you all have them if not we have a selection as per invitation letter.
Remember to bring something lunch to eat as there are no facilities at Kelvin Hall other than vending machines and lots of water to drink as it does get quite hot in the Kelvin Hall with so many bodies!
It would be good if you can attend from the beginning as it helps support the Team and it is also good for the kids to get to know each other. The standing lj is likely to be around 3.30 pm – allowing under 11s to get away at 4.30/5.00 at the latest.
See you Sunday – enjoy your competition.
