NOTICE TO ALL EDINBURGH ATHLETIC CLUB ATHLETES
My name is Susan McKelvie and I was appointed to be YOUR Female Athlete Rep at the November AGM. YOUR Male Athlete Rep is Martin Ferguson.
What does that mean?
It means that I am YOUR voice at the Executive Committee Meetings. So if you have any questions you would like me to raise with the Executive, send me an E-Mail and I will raise on your behalf and come back to you with the response. My E-Mail address is susanmckelvie@hotmail.com
Who am I?
I am a hammer thrower, and compete for Scotland as well as for Edinburgh Athletic Club. I am proud to be a member of EAC, and have been a member for a long time now. I narrowly missed out competing in the Commonwealth Games in 2010 due to throwing a few centimeters below the qualifying distance of 62m. It is all about 2014 now.
I have lots of experience competing in the different championships, leagues and matches, so if anyone is looking for advice or information about competition, please drop me an E-Mail and I would be happy to share my experiences.
I am the Captain of the Edinburgh Athletic Club Senior Women’s team for the UK League Premier division. This gives me the opportunity to compete against the best athletes in the UK, it is a great competition and EAC is well known for the high standard of our athletes in our team – we work well together as a team to get the results for our Team Manager, Anne Scott.
League matches play an important part for the club and it is a great opportunity for all athletes to work together as a team and support each other. If you get the opportunity to compete for your club at any league match I would urge you to take up the challenge, you will enjoy the experience.
I do not normally train at Meadowbank, but if you do see me, stop me and say Hello.
I do hope you will drop me an E-Mail, as I am very keen to help you budding athletes out there achieve your goals and raise any concerns you may have about anything to do with the club at the Executive Meetings. I look forward to hearing from you.
Susan McKelvie
