Friday 30th April 2021 Update: We refer to our previous post advising the competition dates of 9th May and 23rd May. We are very sorry to advise we have had to change the second meeting to Sunday 16th May instead of Sunday 23rd May. We hope this does not cause too much inconvenience and that you will be able to be present at the revised date on 16th May. For those who have already entered for 23rd May, we will automatically switch you to the 16th May. If you cannot attend the revised date, please email us and we will arrange a refund back to your card/bank.
We will email all those entered with a draft timetable although this is likely to change as more entries are received.
We are delighted to announce the 4J Studios Together-Apart competition, a format that allows athletes to compete locally when travel restrictions or other factors may prevent them from attending a district or national event. Athletes will be able to see their results on the Club website as well as a district leaderboard with other competing athletes competing elsewhere. The Together-Apart Districts will provide opportunities for athletes to open their Summer season over the traditional ‘Districts weekend’.
Our Club competitions on Sunday 9th May and Sunday 16th May will be open for all ages 11yrs + on the day of competition). To be held at Saughton Sports Complex. Please note the revised date of 16th May (not 23rd May as previously set)
The closing date is Midnight of Thursday 6th May and 13th May respectively.
Additionally we are also able to provide competition to Under 11yrs (9 & 10yrs on the event date). There will be a smaller number of events available on Track – 75m, 600m, Long Jump and Shot Putt. The track events will be held separately to the other under 18 age groups. Again only one event per day. If you are competing both days, we may need to swap the events around on what you select in order for better competition numbers.
We are providing a selection of track and field events. You will only be able to enter one event per day under current Covid guidance. Sadly the 800m and 1500m will not be available for 18yrs + until we are in Level 2.
All athletes taking part must be up-to-date members of scottishathletics on the date on which they competed.
Age groups will be determined by current UKA rules for track and field competition during the 2020-21 competition year. Masters athletes will compete as Seniors, as is usual in the District Championships/National Outdoor Open. District leader boards will display results for athletes in the U13, U15 and U17 age groups. U20s and Senior results will be added to the National leader board.
How to Enter ?
Login to your Club membership portal (Love Admin) – HERE
Once logged in, first ensure your personal details are correct and up-to-date, then SAVE, then click on EVENTS link at the top of the page. You can enter either or both dates. However you will need to complete each entry separately.
There will be 3 additional questions to confirm: Which single event you would like to compete in, your PB for that Event and your current estimated performance at these events. If you don’t know these performances, you can get a good idea from Power of 10 website. If not, we will do our best to give an estimate from coach’s experience. On the following page, payment will then be taken to secure your entry.
For Payment: When making payment for Events, our preferred payment is by card (PayPal) – for Events only (the default payment is set to Bank Transfer. Please change this to Card Payment).
Detailed instructions for the competition including site map, final version of the timetable and detailed Covid guidance for you to follow will be emailed to you nearer the date as well as being found on the Club Website Events and Covid page.
We very much hope you will take up this opportunity in entering to kick-start your outdoor competition once again.
