World Youth Championships, Lille France, Saturday 9th July 2011

Well done to Kimberley Reed competing for Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the hammer throw  at the World Youth Championships.

After a no throw in the first round, Kimberley qualified for the final when she went top of her group with second round throw of 54.62 metres, which is her second best all time distance.

In Qualifying, Kimberley finished second in Group B, 6th overall, out-throwing World No1 Hannah Zinchuk and Commonwealth No1 Danielle McConnell, both girls crashing out of the competition.

Louisa James also qualifies finishing third in group A (55.20m), 3rd overall so both British girls are through to final.

In the final Kimberley finished 10th with best of 53.05m, a very good effort in a major competition.
