At the World XC Championships Eloise Walker was the fifth of the six GB and NI team on the day with her 51stplace exactly halfway in the Junior Women’s field that started in Denmark.
‘It was so tough; it went off so fast,’ said Eloise, who is coached by John Lees.
‘I was used to this sort of course, so I don’t think the course was hard, it was the speed it went off at. I tried to stick to my own path and work my way up the field.
‘By the end I was absolutely dead, I just had to keep pushing to hold off the girl behind me. I’m running for Great Britain so I just had to give it everything.
‘We knew we had a good chance of doing well as a team. To have five of us within the top 51 is a great achievement.’
